Mike Rodriguez | Mike is a Clio award winning sound designer/mixer and has been working in the audio, film & television and music industries for more than twenty years. Starting as a drum, keyboard tech and midi-programmer for artists such as Natalie Cole, Stryper, Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Riley and Martin Page he learned what it took to work under pressure during live performances that ranged from small clubs to stadium venues. He then made the jump to film and television and amassed an enormous credit list that includes audio mixing for more than 260 film, television and DVD commercials and over 170 DVD bonus material productions and numerous electronic press kits. In addition, he has mixed 21 HBO television specials and an additional 35 network and cable television series and specials. He has also provided sound design for 9 feature films. Besides his entertainment work he has contributed as a sound designer and audio mixer to numerous corporate, cultural and museum projects including, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Museum of Tolerance and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In his “spare” time he runs Westwave studios, composes music and travels the world in search of interesting, obscure, useful/useless audio and music gear.
Diego Stocco |Diego is a sound designer, composer and performer that creates eclectic musical experiences with custom built instruments and experimental techniques. He’s one of the principal sound designers for the multi Award winning Spectrasonics VIs Atmosphere™, Stylus™ RMX and Omnisphere®. Diego created for Epic Score/APM the “Epic Textures” series which have been licensed for film and video game trailers like “Terminator : Salvation”, “2012”, “Eagle Eye”, “Justice League Heroes”, “Soulcalibur IV”, TV shows like “Dexter”, and “Cold Case”. He’s worked as a music sound designer on films “Into the Blue”, “Crank”, “Takers”, TV shows “The Tudors” and “Moonlight”. Diego is one of the featured soloists on the score of Guy Ritchie’s film “Sherlock Holmes”, where he played with his custom built Experibass. Diego’s exploration for new sounds doesn’t stop there, he created videos like “Music from a Tree” where he played a tree as an instrument, “Music from a Bonsai”, and “Bassoforte”. Diego he’s now working on who knows what other musical experiments!
Rob Arbittier | Rob is a composer, songwriter, producer, arranger, engineer, and technologist and runs Noisy Neighbors Productions with legendary engineer, Gary O, together their credits include Stevie wonder’s “SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE” and many other ground-breaking albums. They have also written and produced music along with the sound-design for hundreds of commercials and movie trailers, far too many TV promos to count, “behind the scenes” DVD special features for many films, and they have also composed themes and underscores for numerous TV series and games. Rob’s credits also include a diverse group of artists – Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Peter Frampton, Jennifer Lopez, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Weird Al Yankovic, and many others.
Andrew Scheps | Andrew has worked with some of the biggest rock bands in the world: Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Audioslave, Linkin Park, Green Day and U2. He’s also worked with icons such as Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond and Iggy Pop, as well as indie artists such asManu Chao, Duke Spirit, Cass McCombs and Blood Red Shoes. Andrew started as a musician, but found that what he enjoyed most was working behind the scenes. He has spent some time working for Synclavier, and then on the road with Stevie Wonder (as a keyboard tech) and Michael Jackson (mixing live sound). But he found his home in the studio, and honed his craft engineering and mixing for producers such as Rob Cavallo, Don Was and Rick Rubin. Having learned from some of the best in the business, Andrew began producing in addition to his engineering and mix work. Andrew does much of his work at his own studio, Punkerpad West. It’s here, on this gear, that he’s mixed Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others.
Martin Page | Martin, who hails from Southampton, England, first gained recognition as a songwriter with hits for Kim Carnes and Earth, Wind & Fire, and along with Bernie Taupin, wrote the Number One hits WE BUILT THIS CITY, for Starship and THESE DREAMS, recorded by Heart. Teaming up with Peter Cox and Richard Drummie of Go West, Martin wrote the Top Ten hit KING OF WISHFUL THINKING, featured in the movie PRETTY WOMAN. He is the executive creative director of Soundelux Design Music Group, a post production sound company located in Hollywood, California. And, he is also the co-founder of the Interactive Entertainment Sound Developers, a new branch the Game Audio Network Group.
Bobby Summerfield | Bobby has a wide reaching career spanning almost 30 years as musician. Starting as a DJ, he honed his engineering skills mixing live front of house sound before moving into the studio as an engineer, session player and producer. Since moving to the States 15 years ago, he has concentrated on scoring for film and television for which he has completed more than two thousand one hundred commissions listed on The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) website. His clients have included the television shows Oprah, The View, NYPD Blue, Survivor and ABC’s 20/20 among many others.
Forrest Robinson | Forrest developed his passion for music growing up in Memphis, Tennessee playing Gospel, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, and Country and his performance chops in the clubs and recording studios of Atlanta, Georgia. With influences that range from Jazz and Industrial to Heavy Metal, Forrest is one of the most versatile drummers on the West Coast. He has performed and toured with India.Arie, OVID, Utada Hikaru, and Jiva and recently returned from Europe where he performed with the Crusaders. As a dynamic performer, Forrest asked by one of his many sponsors, GRETSCH Drums, SABIAN Cymbals, TOCA Percussion, GIBRALTAR Hardware, ROLAND V-Drums, EVANS Drumheads and VATER Sticks, to perform live industry demo sessions.
Bill Burgess | Bill has appeared on over 20 albums in a variety of roles as a drummer, producer, programmer and engineer. Bobby Owsinski | A long-time music industry veteran, Bobby Owsinski started his career as a guitar and keyboard player, songwriter and arranger, eventually becoming an in-demand producer/engineer working not only with a variety of recording artists, but on commercials, television and motion pictures as well. One of the first to delve into surround sound music mixing, Bobby has worked on over a hundred surround projects and DVD productions for a variety of superstar acts.
Using his music and recording experience combined with an easy to understand writing style, Bobby has become one of the best selling authors in the music recording industry with 13 books that are now staples in audio recording, music and music business programs in colleges around the world including the best selling “Mixing Engineer’s Handbook,” “The Recording Engineer’s Handbook,” “How to Make Your Band Sound Great,” and “Music 3.0:A Survival Guide For Making Music In The Internet Age.” A frequent moderator, panelist and program director for a variety of industry conferences, Bobby has served as the longtime producer of the annual Surround Music Awards, and is one of the creators and executive producers for the “Guitar Universe” and “Desert Island Music” television programs.
Brandon Burnside | Brandon is a sound designer & composer responsible for many of the whooshes and booms you hear in film trailers. He is the in-house composer/sound designer for the world renowned trailer house, Trailer Park. He also composes for, and runs, the music library Synchronic. He has been a lifelong musician, but it was just 3 years ago, while working as a music supervisor, that Brandon fell in love with composing and editing sound to picture. Since then Brandon’s sound design and music have been heard in film trailers like “Inception,” “Prince of Persia,” “Terminator: Salvation,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Sherlock Holmes,” “Ninja Assassin,” “The Book Of ELI,” “Angels & Demons,” “Wall-e,” “I Am Legend,” “10,000 BC,” “Planet 51,” “White Out,” “The Orphan,” “Surrogates,” “Fame,” and many more.
Nick Peck | Nick Peck is an audio director/sound designer/composer specializing in sound design and audio project management for interactive media and video games. He has over twenty years professional experience in audio production and programming experience in software and game development. He is currently the Senior Manager of Audio Operations at Disney Publishing Worldwide, where he runs an audio team that creates content for iOS and Android apps, as well as other digital media projects. Previous audio production stints include Audio Director of Underground Development, an Activision video game studio, Game Sound Supervisor of Skywalker Sound, and Sound Supervisor of Lucasarts Entertainment Company. He has also worked freelance on and off throughout his career, under the name Perceptive Sound Design. Over a dozen of his projects have made the Apple App Store top ten, including Planes Storybook Deluxe, Mickey Mouse Paint and Play, Wreck-It Ralph Storybook Deluxe, Brave Storybook Deluxe, Sofia the First, and Mickey’s Count-Along Road Trip. Other games of note that Peck sound designed or audio directed include Grim Fandango, LEGO Star Wars, Star Wars Battlefront, Guitar Hero Van Halen, Vampire the Masquerade Redemption, X-Men Destiny, X-Men: The Official Game, and dozens of others.
